Host Yourself, for free!!
(UPDATE!!!!!4/22/08!!!! I knew it was too good to be true.....free service ends april 25..../But hey, i wonder if you could use gmail to host these files?)
OK, here you go- I mentioned using a flickr slideshow as a gallery, but how about a free web-page created with Banana Album Creator and hosted for free on mediamax.com. They are offering 25 Gigs for free! AND you can Host files from this account, just like any server. YOu can download the Banana Album Creator at http://www.bananalbum.net/ and then create an album. Once you have the album, just upload it to mediamax then in your file manager select move, and move the files from myfiles to hosted. Now you can see all the files Banana created and you will see an index file; you will see a link to the right of this file, copy it and create a link in your blog.
Remember to use target="blank" inside your href element for the link to open in a new window or tab.
Here is the page i created using Banana-

Always Learning
Sometimes we have a need to show images, perhaps in a slideshow you say. Well here is one way to do it using Flickr. Once you have some photos uploaded, use the organizer and drag a bunch of photos in to the window to create a new set. Then get back to your photostream, and double click on the set you just created. You should then see a link to view as a slideshow. You can then copy the url that appears in your browser when the slideshow is up, and insert this wherever you want the link to the slide show. And remember, that tricky target="blank" thing in the href element, it will force the browser to open the link in a new window. Your html would look like this:
a href="http://url........" target="blank"
